Gay men can become Catholic priest but must not have sex - Pope Francis
According to a Sky News article, the Vatican now allows gay men to become priests if they remain celibate. Italian bishops have introduced new guidelines permitting gay men to enter seminaries, representing a significant change.
Previously, the 2016 instruction barred men with "deep-seated homosexual tendencies" from becoming priests.
Now, seminary directors are advised to consider a candidate's sexual preference as just one part of their overall personality. It remains uncertain whether these new guidelines will be adopted in other countries.
As a christian, do you agree or disagree with this move by the Catholic church to ordain gay people as priests?
